A study examined 5,134 Tripadvisor reviews covering 17 cruise ships, tracking language associated with wins, jackpots and casino rewards. Mardi Gras recorded the highest unadjusted rate, but Wonder held first place after a Bayesian calculation was used to stop ships with fewer reviews from dominating the ranking.

A Ranking Built from What Passengers Remember
The study didn’t inspect machines or compare payout data. Instead, researchers counted 20 terms linked to luck and rewards, including references to winning, jackpots and casino comps.
As a result, Wonder of the Seas returned an adjusted score of 279.80 mentions per 1,000 reviews, narrowly ahead of Norwegian Bliss and Sky Princess.
This is a ranking of memory and language. It cannot prove that one cruise ship casino offers better odds, of course. The study also acknowledged a quirk in its own data: nearly half of the tracked mentions came from the terms “free room” and “free night,” which may refer to cabin offers rather than gambling rewards.
A ship’s position in the ranking, it turns out, can hinge on what a passenger meant by free room. When the analysis was restricted to more casino-specific terms, the order remained broadly similar, although Sky Princess moved into first place.

Wonder Wins, but Mardi Gras Makes It Close
Wonder of the Seas has the scale expected of a Royal Caribbean giant. Its Casino Royale reportedly contains roughly 30 tables and several hundred slot machines, while a separate Golden Room offers a smaller, more exclusive setting. Royal Caribbean also uses tournaments and its Club Royale rewards programme to pull passengers back during a sailing. The ship’s raw luck rate reached 36.13 mentions per 100 reviews.
Carnival Mardi Gras actually edged that figure at 36.36. Its sample contained only 66 reviews; by comparison, Wonder had 119. Once the study adjusted for the imbalance, Mardi Gras slipped to fifth. Norwegian Bliss rose to second, and Sky Princess finished third. Just 2.45 points per 1,000 reviews separated the three leading casinos at sea after the correction.
The Big-Ship Casino Advantage
The upper end of the table favoured busy mass-market ships. These vessels tend to place gambling within the evening entertainment circuit, where tournaments and loyalty promotions keep the floor active long after dinner.
